The McMurdo S4 Rescue SART is a 9 GHz radar Search and Rescue Transponder designed to assist rescue vessels in locating survival craft during maritime emergencies. When interrogated by an X-band marine radar, the SART automatically transmits a response that appears as a distinctive series of returns on the rescue vessel’s radar display. The compact and buoyant unit is designed for carriage on liferafts and survival craft.
