he McMurdo SmartFind S5A is an AIS Search and Rescue Transmitter designed for deployment in liferafts and survival craft during maritime emergencies. When activated, it transmits its unique AIS identity and GNSS-derived position on both AIS channels, allowing nearby AIS-equipped vessels to identify and locate survivors. The unit is buoyant, waterproof and designed to meet IMO and GMDSS requirements.
